A quick note

We are so glad you are here! You may have already realised that there is a lot of information available to you here, that's because there really is so much behind the body-mind connection, and as a result a lot of scope for positive change too.

However - we want to say that feeling overwhelmed by this is a very normal response, and it is absolutely fine to feel that way. Whilst there is a lot of information, not every module will be relevant to every person and there is no right or wrong way to work through the information available.

Body Mind Connect is here as a long-term support resource and network, as opposed to a course or application that you need to work through quickly. You are not here to complete everything, but rather to learn at your own pace, surrounded by a brilliant community and supported by experts.

What's included in your membership?

  • Full BMC programme
  • 100's resources

Getting started

New member checklist

As we mentioned, there is a lot of information to take in when you join us. But not everything has to be done at once and we recommend you take your time, doing it at a pace comfortable with you. Below we have just suggested a couple of places to get started to begin benefitting from being a member with us.
Free 1:1 30-minute session
We really recommend booking your free 1:1 session with Sian to spend some time discussing your goals, how we can help you reach them and what parts of the course may be most relevant.

Answer your questionnaires
So that we know where you are now, we have some questionnaires to fill in. We can then support you to move through BMC based on your experience, as well as tracking your progress. Remember to keep a note of your scores!
Introduce yourself
If you feel comfortable doing so, and want to start connecting with our wonderful community, then please feel free to introduce yourself on our Slack channel. This is safe, supportive and welcoming space for you.
The Programme

Unsure what module to start with?

Our programme is designed to be worked through in many different ways - suiting a range of different learning styles, cadences and capacities. You can choose from our structured programme, or work through the different modules based on your own interests. If you want any guidance based on specifics needs, please speak with Sian during your 1:1 or via email, on the platform or slack.

My Journey

The My Journey course is a structured programme to help you navigate all that Body Mind Connect has to offer, laid out in a way that helps you navigate the platform, connect with the community and immerse yourself in the content at a pace suitable to you.

Body

The Body module is the foundation for the rest of Body Mind Connect. The topics included in this module cover key aspects of psychobiology to help better understand the mind-body connection. In this module you will learn about the different branches of the nervous system and how they balance each other out. You'll better understand how cells communicate and what this means for your physical and emotional experiences. You will come to better understand different brain regions and what this means when you experience physical symptoms and difficult emotions.

Mind

Feeling burnout, anxious, low and depleted make it really hard to access your calm and optimistic mind. You can feel like you lack control and don't know how to unpick all the things whirling round in your head. What dwells in the mind, dwells in the body. This module will help you to use different practices for working with thoughts and emotions to improve psychological and physical wellbeing. Each topic comes with interactive practices for you to integrate into your everyday life and workbooks, with more added monthly.

Connect

The connect sections focussed on the previous workshops, building social connections, utilising the Q&A function, and furthering the knowledge you acquire in our body and mind modules.

Advice for our new members

“Just be compassionate with yourself, try to have patience and take your time with it to really understand the work. Use the resources available that work best for you.”
"The sessions help me to better understand how concepts apply to me and my illness/experience, and how I can use this knowledge to inform my recovery. It is also extremely validating to be with a group of people that understand and feel similar. The sense of community helps me to feel less alone with a condition that is very isolating. I also enjoy being able to feedback to the group and receive guidance from Dr Sula and other members."
“Capitalise on the enthusiasm you have after joining by diving into the modules - there is so much to learn and feel better about. And definitely join the Wednesday workshops, don’t feel you can’t attend because you are “behind” on the modules, you don’t need to have done them.”

A second to reflect

Take this space (which is confidential to you!) to write down some goals, intentions and feelings you are having whilst starting Body Mind Connect. This is a great place to journal some of your thoughts, and reflect back on it as you begin your journey.

The workshops

Upcoming & past workshops

As part of your membership, you get access to our weekly workshops with Dr. Sula. They are held every Wednesday at 7.30pm. It is a safe, intimate space to explore some of the topics covered, practice together and reflect on various things.

You can also join the fortnightly drop-in sessions with Sian on Thursday mornings at 9am.

What type of workshops are there?

Our Wednesday workshops are held weekly on Zoom at 7.30pm GMT. There are four type of weekly workshop run in sequence across the months, detailed below. Sian also runs additional fortnightly drop-in sessions which offer a space for connection, reflection and perhaps some creativity.
Recorded

Mind Body Concept

These workshops zoom in on a mind-body concept; explaining the mind-body science and impact on how you feel, think and behave. These will often include discussion or practical activities too.

Recorded

Experiential Practice

These workshops will relate to the previous Mind Body Concept workshop. It will be a collection of practical and experiential exercises to help you relate the concept to your own experience and make changes to work with your biology rather than against it.

Not Recorded

Intention Setting & Review

These workshops will guide you to review how the Mind Body Concept relates to your experience so far, what you have done to change it and what specifically you would like to change going forwards. This will be done in a way that streamlines your Body Mind Connect goals, rather than creating an unmanageable mass that dilutes your focus.

Not Recorded

Reflection

These workshops are a chance to reflect on your experiences of the particular Mind Body Concept that month, allowing you to deepen your insight and strengthen your motivation as well as giving yourself credit. These workshops will include smaller breakout rooms for short durations to allow you to reflect as a community and make connections with each other.
